i'm not sure how many of the winter dates still apply. the general timeframe for MLB events does apply and those can be updated where applicable. those key dates were a "sticky" post on BoP. might be useful to have an updated list as a sticky in the forum. but it also might be useful to have whichever are the correct dates for certain events reflected in the calendar. i'm not sure how the calendar works. maybe there's an alert given upon log-in, like there is upon receipt of new PMs. then again, maybe it's overkill. :P
okay, you should be able to add events now. please feel free to do just that :P
i believe what it does is displays upcoming events on the main page, if i enable that. i'll go see about doing that right now...i think that would be kinda cool
if it's too much trouble to add the dates tho, let me know and we can just put the one you posted here as a sticky on the main forum, right?
thanks scuff!
i was able to add an event. so, i added another! then another! times were good.
but then i remembered that the first event i'd added was only a test event (the LCS do NOT begin today :P. however, i wasn't sure if events posted beyond today would appear, so i used today's date). indeed, events occurring within 30 days do appear. the LCS begin October 10th.
anyway, i couldn't delete that October 5th LCS event. now, unless one is tim mccarver and of the apparent belief that the yankees already are the 2007 MLB champions, the LCS do actually matter. as such, could you check deletion permissions and/or delete that October 5th event?
Go Tigers!
Edit: all good now with the deletion stuff.
Edit II: well, i populated the calendar a bit. i'm going to try to add some content to a few items, so they don't read as, for example, an event titled "world series begins" and the related post offers the detail "world series begins." call it a work in progress.
this calendar thing is pretty cool scuff - i like being able to see whole periods of time, such as the "closed period" for waivers.
i chose 30 days, but i think it will be more meaningful if it changes more often, so i'm gonna pull it down to 10. for now. you saw it listed down at the bottom of the page, right?
those blues keep showing up...gotta try 'n fix that...
