Title: Today's ST opener
Description: what a game

here's the highlights that i can recall

guthrie threw a couple of long fly balls but no HR. he got a couple of Ks. threw a lot of pitches.

tejada had a great play in the first inning but then made one error later in the second or third. he has to have it become more automatic it seems. we'll have to be patient is all.

or not -- Josh Bell hit two homers on the day, one from each side, and both well-hit balls that needed no wind to help em.

all told, there've been SIX HRs by O's hitters today -- two by Bell, two by Rhyne Hughes, one by Scott Moore, and one by Markakis (who also had a double).

the infielders had some issues, but just normal third week of ST stuff.

Hernandez gave up one home run, but it was a wind-aided shot. he otherwise looked strong, as did Cla Meredith (1-2-3 inning), Castillo (1-2-3), Ohman (scoreless inning), and Sarfate looked the shakiest, the least control, but still gave up only 1 run.

the game isn't over yet, but it's 12-2 O's. Albers is pitching.

edit: okay now it's over -- on the second Orioles DP of the game, both 6-4-3.

and this one is in the WIN column.

Sarfate is just another one of those guys - could throw a ball through a brick wall, if only he could actually hit the brick wall.
