In case you missed the game like I did, here's a link to the opening ceremony welcoming back the 1970 team and also to a few highlights. The current team looked great in those uniforms and honored them by actually winning. This is how the Orioles should look (IMO).
http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?c_id=mlb...ame_pk%3D264925Note: The welcome ceremony is 2nd on the video after the wild pitch.
Note #2: Those gorgeous black helmets with the cartoon bird and orange brim... I looked for a couple years to buy one, couldn't, and had to get one hand enameled. Turned out pretty well, though!
Thanks for posting the link. I feel a certain disconnect from the team due to distance, but that was a sweet little video and it brought back a lot of memories. Amazing but not only did they win the WS, they were arguably one of the five best teams in ML history. I have seen the 70s Os listed on about five or six lists of the best teams in history.
Add to that the three year run, with 319 wins or something like that, and you have a very compelling argument that there was something approaching dynasty, though probably not a true dynasty. Then they won the pennant in the next two or three years, only to be cut down by the As, and you have a great run as an Os fan.
Now, we are happy with a four game win streak.
It must be sign of the end times.

could beat today's team.
That collection, including Mark's wife, could beat MOST clubs today. Should be recognized as one of the best to ever take the diamond.
